What is the bearing form?

The bearing type refers to the bearing type used in the air-cooled radiator fan. In mechanical engineering, there are many types of bearings, but the types of bearings used in radiator products are classified according to their underlying working principles. There are only three types of bearings: sleeve bearings using sliding friction and rolling bearings. Ball bearing and two types of bearing mix these three. In recent years, new technologies introduced by major radiator manufacturers in bearings, such as magnetic bearings, fluid protection system bearings, hydraulic bearings, rifle bearings, nano-ceramic bearings, etc., have also been improved from these primary bearing forms. The basic working principle remains unchanged.

Sleeve Bearing

Sleeve Bearing is a sleeve bearing that uses sliding friction. Sleeve Bearing uses lubricating oil as a lubricant and drag reducer. It has low running noise and low manufacturing costs during first use. But this Bearing wears severely; the life span is far higher than the ball bearing.

Moreover, the sleeve bearing has been used for a long time. Due to the oil seal (computer radiator products can't use high-grade oil seals, which is generally ordinary paper oil seals), the lubricating oil will gradually volatilize, and dust will enter the bearings, causing the fan speed Slower, increased noise, and other problems, and severely caused by the eccentricity of the fan due to bearing wear and severe vibration. When these phenomena occur, either the oil seal is opened for refueling, or the new fan must be eliminated.

Single ball bearing

The unique ball bearing is an improvement on traditional oil-containing bearings. It uses a combination of sliding friction and rolling friction. It uses a ball bearing and an oil-containing bearing to reduce the cost of double ball bearings. It uses balls between the rotor and the stator. Lubricate with oil. It overcomes the problems of short life and unstable operation of oil-containing bearings, and the cost increase is minimal. The single ball bearing absorbs the advantages of oil-containing bearings and double ball bearings and improves the Bearing's service life to 40,000 hours. The disadvantage is that after the ball is added, the operating noise increases, but it is still smaller than the double ball bearing.

Double ball bearing

Double ball bearing is a relatively high-grade bearing. It adopts rolling friction. It uses two ball bearings. There are several small steel balls around the axis in the Bearing. When the fan page or the shaft rotates, the steel ball will rotate. Because they are all spheres, the friction is small and there is no problem of oil leakage. The double ball bearing has the advantage of long life, about 50000-100000 hours, excellent anti-aging performance, suitable for high-speed fans. Disadvantages of double ball bearings are high manufacturing costs and maximum noise at the same speed level. Dual ball bearings and hydraulic bearings have better sealing performance, especially double ball bearings. The dual ball bearing is wholly embedded in the fan, and the rotating part has no direct contact with the outside world. In a sealed environment, the working environment of the Bearing is relatively stable. As a result, almost all large-diameter fans at the 5,000-rpm level use double ball bearings. The hydraulic Bearing has a unique return type oil circuit, so the possibility of lubricant leakage is slight.

Rifle Bearing

The representative manufacturer of Rifle Bearing technology is CoolerMaster. CoolerMaster has upgraded most of its traditional oil-bearing fans to Raffle Bearings. As an improvement of conventional oil-containing bearings, Rifle Bearing uses abrasion-resistant materials to make high-oil-containing hollow bearings, which reduces the friction between the bearing and the shaft core. Rifle Bearing also has a shaft core with a reverse spiral groove and an oil retaining groove. During operation, oily oil will form a reverse migration, thus avoiding fatty oil loss, thus increasing bearing life. The Rifle Bearing fan adopts the above structure and parts, which significantly improves the oil-containing and oil-holding capacity, and reduces the noise.

Hypro Bearing

The name of Hypro Bearing is derived from HY (Hydrodynamic wave) PRO (Oil protection system). It is a patented product of ADDA, a well-known radiator, and a fan design manufacturer. It is also based on traditional oil-bearing bearings. Several improvements have been made. Hypro Bearing and hydraulic bearings can be described as the same goal. The two designs each adopt some unique improvements, but the essence is the circulating oil circuit system, and the performance in all aspects is the same. Usually, product life can reach 50,000 hours above.

Hydraulic Bearing

Hydraulic Bearing is a technology pioneered by AVC, which is an improvement in oil-bearing. Hydraulic bearings have a larger oil storage space than oil-containing bearings and have a unique loop-type oil supply circuit. The working noise of the hydraulic bearing fan is significantly reduced, and the service life is very long, which can reach 40,000 hours. The hydraulic Bearing is still mostly an oil-bearing. However, after this improvement, the service life is considerably extended than ordinary oil-sealed bearings, and it inherits the advantages of oil-containing bearings-low operating noise. At present, hydraulic bearings have been used in AVC radiators, but not all AVC radiators use hydraulic bearing fans.

VAPO Bearing

VAPO Bearing is improved by Sunon's magnetic levitation technology. It is to strengthen the hardness of the oil-bearing bearing sleeve and use unique materials, and the inner surface is also specially processed. Together with magnetic levitation technology, service life is greatly extended.

Magnetic Bearing

The magnetic bearing motor has a magnetic suspension (Magnetic System, MS) design. Its magnetic induction line is perpendicular to the magnetic levitation line, so the shaft core and the magnetic levitation line are parallel, so the weight of the rotor is fixed on the running track, and the use is almost no load. The shaft core is braced in the direction of the anti-magnetic levitation line to form the entire rotor suspended and on a fixed running track. Therefore, magnetic levitation is only an auxiliary function, not an independent bearing form. Specific applications must be matched with other bearing types, such as magnetic levitation + ball bearings, magnetic levitation + oil-containing bearings, magnetic levitation + vaporized bearings, and so on. European and American countries have not recognized this technology.

NANO Ceramic Bearing

NANO Ceramic Bearing is still mostly an oil-bearing and was first introduced by Foxconn in its products. The traditional oil-bearing fan is severely worn during use and has low reliability when used for a long time. Nano-bearings effectively overcome this problem: ceramic bearing technology uses a unique polymer material and special additives fully integrated, the core of the Bearing is entirely made of unique dioxide materials, using die and sintering process, crystal particles from the past 60um Down to 0.3um, it has durable, smooth and wear-resistant characteristics. Nano-ceramic bearings have strong high-temperature resistance and are not easy to volatilize, which significantly prolongs the life of the fan. The properties of nano-bearings are similar to that of ceramics. According to tests, the average service life of fans using nano-ceramic bearings is more than 150,000 hours. This technology is not real nanotechnology, and the materials used are not authentic nano-scale materials, just using words such as nano to attract attention.
