What is a linear ball bearing?

Due to the point contact between the bearing ball and the bearing shell, the steel ball rolls with minimal frictional resistance, so the linear bearing has the characteristics of low friction, relatively stable, and does not change with the speed of the bearing, and can obtain a stable linear motion with high sensitivity and high accuracy.

Linear ball bearings also have their limitations. The main thing is that the bearing's impact load capacity is weak, and the bearing capacity is also inadequate. Secondly, the linear ball bearings have higher vibration and noise during high-speed motion.

Tolerance grades for linear ball bearings?

The tolerance level of linear ball bearings is also the accuracy level, which is generally divided into 0, 6, 6X, 5, 4, and 2 levels, and the tolerance level is from low to high.

Each tolerance level linear bearing has different requirements in size, rotation, and appearance quality. The higher the level, the stricter the requirements, and the more perfect the product performance. The price of the product will be higher. (Old tolerance grade codes are G, E, Ex, D, C, B).

The clearance in the linear bearing is to ensure that the linear bearing can run flexibly and without blocking, and at the same time, it is required to ensure that the linear bearing runs smoothly.

The accuracy grade of linear ball bearings is not directly related to the clearance of linear ball bearings. Radial clearance of radial, linear ball bearings is generally divided into C2, C0, C3, C4, and C5 groups. The value range of the clearance is from small to large.

Theoretically, each group of tolerances for linear ball bearings can be selected for each group of clearances, but the selection of clearance groups must be based on various working conditions, temperature, load, and linear bearing configuration in various situations, in order to achieve the different precision functions of linear ball bearings.

How to store linear ball bearings?

1. Requirements for the storage location

The bearings are generally stored in the warehouse. Still, the relative humidity in the warehouse is not more than 60%, and the room temperature is about 25 degrees, and the temperature difference cannot be too significant. Moreover, it is better not to put corrosive things such as acid, alkali, salt, chemical raw materials, and large water in the warehouse. The storage place should avoid direct sunlight, good ventilation, and a clean environment.

2. Storage method requirements

Different linear ball bearing products have different storage methods, and the wrong way will also adversely affect the bearing. Small bearings are best placed on a shelf about 30cm from the ground. Large rolling bearings can't be placed in a vertical position. Due to uneven force, the bearings will be permanently deformed.

3. Requirements before storage

It is essential to check that the outer packaging is intact before storing linear ball bearings. If the bearing is damaged before being saved, even if the storage conditions are right, problems will occur, and the quality of linear ball bearings will be affected. Once outsourcing is found to be incomplete, it should be repacked immediately.
