Correct Steps for Mounting and Adjusting the Spherical Roller Bearings

Measurement and adjustment of radial clearance.

In order to ensure that the radial clearance reserved for the inner ring, roller and axial diameter of the middle bearing during operation is not too large or too small, and to prevent the change of clearance in later installation, the following measurements should be taken.If the specified installation clearance cannot be reached, readjust to the specified installation clearance gradually according to the normal installation method.Need WSBC 21316 E,click here to learn more.

(1) The bearing installed by heating method requires the mounting clearance to be measured again after the shaft and bearing are isothermal.


(2) Before the locking washer is installed, the mounting clearance shall be measured again.


(3) When the oil pressure nut is replaced by the lock nut, the mounting clearance shall be measured again.


(4) After the oil pressure of the injection pump is unloaded, the installation clearance shall be measured again.


Alignment and adjustment of self-aligning roller bearings

(1) Pressure mounting method for inner ring of self-aligning roller bearing

A Tapered shaft shall be directly pressed bearing with lock nut, end cap, end cap or oil nut;


B fixed with lock nut or oil nut directly pressed bearing;


C Dismounting bushing Apply shaft pressure to dismounting bushing with lock nut or oil nut to install bearing.


(2) Setting and implementation of axial clearance.

According to the thermal expansion coefficient and working temperature of the material used in the shaft and the material of the bearing housing (housing), the axial expansion amount of the two temperature rises is calculated respectively. The difference of the expansion amount of the two is the axial dislocation amount of the inner ring and outer ring of the bearing caused by the difference of the working temperature difference between the shaft and the bearing housing and the thermal expansion coefficient of the material.


Due to the huge thermal expansion force of the metal material, it is irresistible. To avoid huge spherical roller bearing axial force and the damage of the bearing when installation, must be in swimming end bearing cover and the bearing outer ring end face to set aside for axial thermal expansion between axial clearance, while ensuring the winding end bearing outside diameter and hole for small clearance fit, to ensure that the winding end bearing when the axial thermal expansion with the axial displacement (axial creep).


In the installation of a self-aligning roller bearing with fixed ends at both ends of a shaft, axial clearance shall be set aside between the end cover of both ends of the shaft and the end face of the bearing outer ring, and the outer diameter of both ends of the bearing and the seat hole shall be fitted with small clearance.


The radial clearance shall be no less than the residual clearance after bearing installation.Axial mounting clearance shall not be less than the maximum thermal expansion of the shaft, and the rotating parts on the shaft shall not interfere with the non-rotating parts during axial displacement.
