WSBC Bearing Cleaning, Maintenance And Damage Judgment


1. Cleaning of bearings

     When disassembling the WSBC deep groove ball bearing for maintenance, first record the appearance of the bearing, confirm the remaining amount of lubricant, and after sampling the lubricant for inspection, wash the bearing. As a cleaning agent, gasoline and kerosene are commonly used.

     The cleaning of the disassembled bearing is divided into rough cleaning and fine cleaning. In the container, a metal mesh is placed on the bottom to prevent the WSBC deep groove ball bearing from directly contacting the dirt of the container. During rough cleaning, if the bearing is rotated with dirt, it will damage the rolling surface of the bearing, so care should be taken. In the rough cleaning oil, use a brush to remove grease and adhesions. After it is roughly clean, switch to fine cleaning.

     Fine washing is to carefully clean the WSBC deep groove ball bearing while rotating it in the cleaning oil. In addition, the cleaning oil should always be kept clean.


2. Overhaul and judgment of bearings

    In order to judge whether the disassembled WSBC deep groove ball bearing can be used again, it is necessary to check after the bearing is cleaned. The state of the raceway surface, rolling surface, mating surface, the wear of the cage, and the clearance of WSBC deep groove ball bearing The increase of dimensional accuracy and whether there is damage or abnormality related to the decrease of dimensional accuracy. For non-separable small ball bearings, use one hand to support the inner ring horizontally, and rotate the outer ring to confirm whether it is smooth.

    Because large bearings cannot be rotated by hand, pay attention to checking the appearance of rolling elements, raceways, cages, and rib surfaces. The higher the importance of the bearing, the more careful inspection.

    The judgment of reusability is determined by considering the degree of bearing damage, mechanical performance, importance, operating conditions, and the period until the next maintenance. However, if there are the following defects, they can no longer be used and must be replaced with new WSBC deep groove ball bearings:

    (a) There are cracks or nicks on any of the inner ring, outer ring, rolling element, and cage;

    (b) There is a fracture on any one of the ring or rolling element;

    (c) There are significant jams on the raceway surface, ribs and rolling elements;

    (d) The cage is significantly worn, or the rivet is significantly loosened;

    (e) There is rust or injury on the raceway surface and rolling elements;

    (f) There are serious indentations and marks on the raceway surface and rolling elements;

    (g) There is obvious creep on the inner diameter surface of the inner ring or the outer diameter surface of the outer ring;

    (h) Discoloration caused by heat is obvious;

    (i) Bearings filled with grease, seals or dust caps are obviously damaged.


Ring fracture is one of the problems that plague the quality of WSBC spherical roller bearings. Defect fracture is the main form of ring fracture. The cause is mainly the problem of the raw material itself or improper production operation, and the equipment cannot operate normally. The actual analysis is as follows.

1. Raw materials

     When raw material inclusions, looseness, brittle element segregation or carbide liquefaction, network, band, unfortunately free uniform segregation and other defects are not eliminated or improved during processing, they will cause stress concentration, weaken the basic strength of the ferrule, and become cracks source. The preventive measures are to adhere to the main channels for supply, try to purchase steel products of stable and reliable quality, strengthen the warehousing inspection of the purchased steel products, and control them from the source.


2. Production and equipment

   (a) Forging: The toughness and strength of the ferrule will be reduced if overburning, overheating, and internal cracking into network carbides occur during the forging process. Therefore, the processing temperature, circulating heating and calcining heat dissipation conditions (such as spray cooling) must always be strictly controlled, especially after the final forging of larger varieties of ferrules, the temperature is above 700 ℃, and they should not be stacked.


    (b) Heat treatment: close monitoring of heat treatment equipment is an important job in the workshop.

    Monitor the reliability of equipment. Important temperature control instruments such as instruments and thermocouples must be closely monitored to ensure that the measurement data is accurate and reliable; those with excessive errors must be replaced in time, and running with diseases is strictly prohibited.

    Record of monitoring data. The temperature recording device of each heat treatment equipment must be restored in order to effectively monitor the whole process of the equipment work (night shift is the focus), so that the heat treatment quality has strong traceability, to prevent false records and randomness, and to provide a complete ISO9000 quality system Data.

    Quench cooling conditions. In order to solve the defects such as soft spots of medium and large-sized WSBC spherical roller bearing rings, the composition and performance of quenching oil should be determined. Those that do not meet the requirements should be replaced in advance and replaced with rapid quenching oil to enhance the quenching capacity of the quenching medium. Improve quenching cooling conditions.

    Strictly tempering process. For the varieties with more fracture phenomena, the second tempering is performed after rough grinding of the ferrule, which can further stabilize the structure and size of the ferrule, reduce the grinding stress, and improve the performance of the grinding metamorphic layer. Recently, two types of 22328/02 and 22236/02 have been implemented a secondary tempering process, which is subject to after-sales tracking feedback verification.


    (c) Monitoring of grinding process. The finished WSBC spherical roller bearing rings are not allowed to have grinding burns and grinding cracks, especially on the mating surface of the inner ring screwdriver. If the ferrule is pickled, it should be fully inspected to remove burned products. If it is severely burned, it cannot be repaired or repaired unqualified should be scrapped. Ferrules with grinding burns are not allowed to enter the assembly process.


    (d) Identification management. After the steel is put into storage and before the ferrule is ground, each process must be strictly managed, and the two different materials and products of GCr15 and GCr15SiMn must be strictly distinguished.

3. The possibility of overload fracture and fatigue fracture of the ferrule exists at the same time. 

     The research on the ring fracture phenomenon should not only consider the defects generated in the material and the production process, but also the structural dimensions, processing measurement methods, processing technology, and WSBC spherical roller bearing parts of WSBC spherical roller bearings. The bearing service conditions and other factors are studied and analyzed.


    (a) WSBC spherical roller bearing structure and service conditions. Different structures are suitable for different service conditions; WSBC spherical roller bearing parts have different structures and their processing technology is not the same, which affects its quality.     (b) Strengthen process research, improve processing technology, improve processing quality, and reduce the possibility of defects in processing. For heat treatment, for larger varieties of inner and outer rings, try to use the lower and middle quenching heating temperature to adapt to the extension of the holding time to increase the alloying concentration and the martensite fracture strength, and select higher under the premise of ensuring quality Tempering temperature to enhance the impact toughness of the workpiece.


    (c) Improve processing monitoring methods and promote the improvement of processing quality. Such as improving the monitoring of the curvature position of the flow channel, improving the overall performance of the WSBC spherical roller bearing after assembly, and improving the working condition of the WSBC spherical roller bearing.
